What's in Season

If you visit one of Kent's Farmers' Markets this month, you'll discover that a great range of fresh, local produce is on offer. And, with over 500 local farmers and specialist food producers selling through 50 markets across the county, there's plenty to choose from.

You'll also find that many markets put on special events such as cooking demonstrations so keep an eye open for those. To make sure you don't miss anything, you can also sign up for a market reminder. Just click the "Reminder" button on your local market's page and put in your details.

Kent has so much to offer. As our Patron, Michel Roux Jr says: “As the Garden of England, Kent has been renowned for centuries for the fantastic quality of its fruit and vegetables, and it now boasts a huge array of wonderful, skilled cooks, who are hand-making delicious products with great care.”

“I really want to encourage shoppers to try their local farmers’ market if they’ve not been before – you’ll be surprised. They don’t just offer fresh produce, meat and cheese, you’ll find stalls selling the freshest fish, specialty breads, deli-style pies, beer from the region’s growing number of micro-breweries, handmade chocolates, vegetarian dishes and a wide range of different jams and chutneys.”
