Members (Producers and Managers) Selling at a Farmers' Market Managing a Market Search:

In September 2010 a major funding proposal for project support was agreed by the Kent Downs and Marshes Leader Programme to support farmers markets in their area. This KD&M project applies to 17 farmers markets which embrace over 125 rural businesses, active as stallholders or producers.

The project has six major areas of activity:-

  • workshops for managers and stallholders

  • market research and surveys (market "Health Checks")

  • assessing the performance of markets

  • upgrading the Association's website content

  • piloting market and producer accreditation standards

  • developing and coordination of "event' packages for market managers to help achieve consistency and economies of scale.

Our objective is to enable the Farmers Markets in Kent to continue to thrive and to bring the best in fresh, local produce to our towns and villages.
