The Dover Artisan Market has been organised by White Cliffs Country in partnership with the Kent Farmers’ Market Association. The market runs in the Market Square from 10am to 3pm on the third Saturday of each month.
The market comprises local produce and craft market, supporting Kent based producers, small businesses and crafters. Find us in the recently re-furbished Market Square. Market Manager, Beckie Alves, said: “We’re excited to have an artisan market to Dover showcasing some of the wonderful local producers we have in Kent located in the heart of Dover town centre in the aptly named Market Square!

The £3.6m revamp of the in 2022 Market Square created a more welcoming environment for local shoppers and a focal point for visitors to the town centre, including a new event space and a unique water feature. The project was funded by £2.44m from the Coastal Communities Fund secured by the Dover Town Team, and £1.2m from Dover District Council. Dover Town Council has also contributed to the project.

Dover has a partly preserved Roman lighthouse(the tallest surviving Roman structure in Britain) Remains of a Roman villa with preserved wall paintings. Forts were built above the port and lighthouses were constructed to guide passing ships. It is one of the Cinque Ports and has served as a bastion against various attackers
Dover Castle During the Cold War, a Regional Seat of Government was located within the White Cliffs beneath Dover Castle. In 1992, the so-called Dover boat from the Bronze Age was discovered in six metres depth underwater. This is one of the oldest finds of a seaworthy boat. Using the radiocarbon method of investigation, the boat's construction was dated to approximately 1550 BC.
