About Meophams Valley Vineyard

Meophams Valley Vineyard was originally established in 1991 by David and Pauline Grey who planted several grape varieties, conducting vineyard tours and creating a range of award winning still and sparking wines. In November 2015 Ben, Surjit and Surrinder Bassi became the proud owners of the Meopham Valley Vineyard who have spent the last 18 years working closely with David at the vineyard.

Background

It's been our lifelong dream to own such a business, with our own plot of land to grow and cultivate quality produce and our family feels privileged to own the vineyard. We take every opportunity to visit, to start pruning, grape picking or simply to admire the breath taking scenic view of the valley.

Product Description

The vineyard is located in the North Downs of Kent and spans approximately 25 acres. The vineyard itself is set on a beautiful east facing slope with the picturesque 'Happy Valley' as a backdrop. It is approximately 100 m. above sea level and the vines are planted at a density of 1672 vines per acre . Our vines are all planted on a gradient, a perfect terroir for capturing the sun's rays. These conditions help to increase sugar levels and ensure all the grapes reach optimum ripeness.

We currently grow ten grape varieties:- Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Bacchus, Rondo, Regent, Reichensteiner, Madeleine Angevine, Leon Millot and Triomphe
